The project thwarts a strong contradiction of the site; to protect the homes of noise pollution generated by the beam of the railway of gare de l’Est while overlooking this landscape of an exceptional open view of Paris.
Four plots of increasing heights and articulated by fissures act as a baffle. Occupying the entire plot, with its prow facing the south of Paris, they create a ribbon that entwines gardens that grow towards the north. The view passes, but the noise is stopped by means of a glass screen of inclinable slats.
The housing units are organized in line with these principles.
All living areas overlook the gardens on the quiet rue Cugnot while circulations and bathrooms overlook the rails. The living rooms occupy the prow of the ribbons enjoying a double orientation: open views on the railways and side ventilation from the garden.
